Conferences and presentations on cultural topics are held at least twice a year. They are dictated by renowned professionals and specialists, in renowned venues, followed by a closing cocktail.
This activity is carried out in conjunction with other cultural institutions that support and collaborate with FADAM. They are open to Friends and the general public.
Day trips are also organized to nearby towns where you can visit museums and historical parks, estancias or other heritage establishments. Visits to Temporary Exhibitions in Museums are scheduled within the FADAM Agenda.
Regional meetings are held in different provinces of the country throughout the year, calling on the associations, museums, and cultural institutions of the region, in order to present topics of common interest, disseminate the work carried out by the Associations of Friends and jointly promote actions, strategies and exchanges among participants in the region.
Training for the Associations
The Training Program covers Management of Friends’ Associations, Volunteering, Marketing and Resource Development. The courses are taught by specialists and professionals. Members of federated associations have special discounts.
This Program also travels to the interior, and where the Associations request it, FADAM is responsible for implementing it, according to the requested topic. The Association that requests it is in charge of the headquarters to dictate it and to convene the interested persons.
Annual Summit
Every year a topical theme is chosen for culture and museums, and prominent personalities are invited to exhibit it. The Day is held in November or December, in the Auditorium of the Association of Friends of the National Museum of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires (MNBA), and marks the completion of the activities developed during the year. A lunch is organized for exchange and contact between the attendees and Friends. On the following day there are specially scheduled visits to museums in the city and its surroundings, for those interested who attended the Day. In order to promote assistance, a Scholarship Program has been developed, which assists with the transfer, accommodation, lunch and registration for Friends who come from the interior of the country.

FADAM Youth
FADAM Youth starts in 2014, after the participation of FADAM in the Triennial Congress of the World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM) in the city of Berlin. There, for the first time, was presented an exclusive agenda for young friends of museums. More than 50 young representatives from museums around the world gathered to kick-start what is now called the GEF Youth Chapter.
Talks, conversations, networking, exchange of experiences -in Berlin, FADAM learned how to do it. Upon returning to the country, and with the aim of beginning to encourage the creation of youth teams within their federated partners, a cycle of trainings and presentations was launched, which informed about how to take the first steps in the project.
Today there are youth teams in various Associations of Friends in different parts of the country, in continuous movement and in permanent expansion. Its representative members are also part of FADAM Youth, a group that seeks to be a horizontal space for collaborative exchange of practices and knowledge around the recruitment of young audiences in museums.
They work virtually throughout the year, and meet in regional meetings with different themes, as well as in the annual day. In addition, since 2014, they participate in all the annual meetings of the GEF, being the team of young people of greater number each year.
We’re waiting for you! If you are under 40 and you are looking for your place in the culture we invite you to be part of FADAM Youth.
